• The Great Columbia Crossing 10k Run/Walk is held annually
• Run walk or run across the longest continuous truss bridge in North America!

The Astoria-Megler Bridge is an impressive sight any time you drive across it. However, once a year in mid-October, during the Great Columbia Crossing 10K Run/Walk, there’s a rare opportunity to walk or run across the longest continuous truss bridge in North America. The event typically draws more than 2,000 participants.

The Great Columbia Crossing was first held in 1982 and has been held every year since, except 2016, when it was canceled due to severe weather.

Although the bridge itself is about four miles (6.54 km) long, the whole race route covers six miles (10 km) from start to finish. Registered participants are shuttled to the Washington side, where the race begins.

This two-hour, family-friendly event welcomes all ages and abilities. If you haven’t reached the finish line by the two-hour mark, the shuttle service will pick you up and take you to the end point.
