Mongoose Malus Fat Tire Bike - The Best Value Bike

Mongoose Malus Fat Tire Mountain Bike is not another cheap bike off Amazon.

This is the best price-to-value bike you can get.

Frankly, the value you receive is insane.

That bike was my workhorse for 6 years and thousands of miles.

Mongoose Malus Fat Tire Bike

  • Adjustable Frame: The bike's universal size frame fits riders from 5'4" to 6'2" tall. So multiple people can use it (if you allow it, of course). Or you can buy 2 of the same bike for yourself and your riding partner. Unless you ride around with a giant
  • Performance Tires: The 4-inch wide tires give you an amazing performance. On the sand, snow, developed trails, and trails you are developing as you go
  • High-End Speed Shifter: The 7-speed shifter is smooth as butter with the feel of much more expensive bikes
  • Breaks As Good As More On More Expensive Bikes: Disk breaks are crisp and precise and have never let me down

The frame and rims still run strong after years of ROUGH use.

This is THE BEST bike you can get for the money.

The bike brand and price will not be a conversation starter.

But the adventures you have on it will.

Pros

The best fat tire bike for the price
Reliable

Cons
Not ideal for tall and big riders

Mongoose Argus Fat Tire Bike - The Best Bike For Big And Tall

Mongoose Argus Fat Tire Bike is the best bike for tall and big riders, rated from 5'10" to 6'2" tall. (Make sure to buy a large frame model)

If you are taller than 6'2", you shouldn't have a problem (well, unless you are 7 feet high. Then I have no idea to tell you.)

I know of a 6'4" tall guy weighing around 320lbs; this is his bike of choice.

The first bike I review in this article - the Mongoose Malus, is technically rated for people up to 6'2". And it works ok for it.

However, if your height and weight are above average, you need more in your bike than an average-size rider for the best experience.

Mongoose Argus might appear significantly more expensive than other mongoose models.

Well, yeah, it is. But for a good reason.

Much more goes into bikes for big and tall riders. And it is not just the frame size.

The bike handles absolutely differently if you are heavier and\or taller than an average person.

This is due to the weight and balance distribution.

For example, Mongoose Argus has 4.8" tires vs standard 4".

I might appear like nothing, less than an inch. But the difference is how you can handle the bike is HUGE.

The same goes for extra speeds. 10-speed vs. 7-speed difference is significant for big and tall people when navigating rough terrains.

Correct frame, handlebars, rims, etc. Everything is supposed to match the rider.

All of those features add up to the best fat tire bike for big and tall riders without a steep price tag.

Mongoose Argus Fat Tire Bike

Mongoose Argus Sport Men and Women Fat Tire Mountain Bike reviewThe bottom line is don't look like a bear on a unicycle in a circus.

Buy the correct bike for your stature.

  • 4 Modes Of Operation: Manual, throttle, pedal assist, cruise control. With those settings, you can use that bike for everything, from commuting to exercising and racing!
  • 7-Speeds: The bike easily gives you 50 miles of range on one charge on the developed paths and roads. On rough terrain, expect 30-40 miles of range. This way, you can get pretty far without carrying extra batteries or hanging out at the roadside watering hole for two hours because you ran out of charge
  • Powerful Motor: The motor is just 500w, but it can EASILY achieve 25 mph. Throw dust in the face of slower riders! (Kidding. Be nice, please!)

This bike is adjustable and fits big and tall people. In fact, even if you are 6'6" and 300+ pounds, you will be fine.

So when your uncle Joe, a trucker from Kentucky, visits you in Oregon, you can adjust it for him and let him ride along the coast. Get Uncle Joe not to feel landlocked for once!

This bike is not the most comfortable for big and tall, but it still functions well for people of that stature.

Vivi Electric Fat Tire Bike has a display showing:

  • The speed you are riding
  • Battery charge level
  • Bike speed you are on
  • The distance you have covered

So you will always know how fast you traveled when trail police pulled you over!

The bottom line is if you need an affordable bike that does it all, including:

  • Running errands around town
  • Riding on the coast for fun
  • Hitting the trails
  • Commuting

You found it!

Pros

Affordable
Reliable
Up to 50 miles of range on one charge
25mph max speed

Cons

When it arrives at your door, it will require some easy assembly on the front wheel, handlebars, and pedals.

MultiJoy Electric Fat Tire Bike - The Best Electric Fat Tire Bike

The handlebar and seat are adjustable enough for everyone from 5'4" to 6'9".

The heavy-duty aluminum frame will support you if you are above average weight, ride with a heavy backpack, and even if you jump from the trail to the sand on this bike!

Puncture-proof fat tires will get you across the town, trails, sand, and snow!

The colorful display shows you all the info you need, including:

  • Battery charge level
  • Speed
  • Mode of operation

My favorite part is how comfortable the bike is!

Riding and getting on and off is comfortable even for my 63-year-old mother (love you, Mom).

This is the best all-around bike you can get!

Imagine cruising up a steep hill with the effort of a flat road.
Or arriving at work without the 'I just sprinted for the bus' sweat.
Or racing along the Oregon coast (or any other coast) on the sand!

All that for a fraction of the "high-end" (more like "high-price") models.

Pros

Very comfortable
The best all-around bike
Adjustable for riders from 5'4" to 6'9"
Up to 70 miles of range on one charge
28 mph max speed

Cons

It is not very comfortable for riders below 5'4"
When it arrives at your door, it will require some easy assembly on the front wheel, front fender, handlebars, pedals, and seat.

Honorable Mention

TrikExplor Fat Tire Quad - Best Fat Tire Bike For Person with Limited Mobility

This is an honorable mention because we have yet to use that specific quad.

But I saw that bad boy in action, and it is impressive, to say the least.

TrikExplor Fat Tire Quad is not a bike per se, for obvious reasons.

It got 4 wheels, not 2, duh.

However, this is an important mention for adventurers with limited mobility who want to explore sand dunes, beaches, trails, and more.

TrikExplor Fat Tire Quad

TrikExplor Fat Tire Quad - Best Fat Tire Bike For Person with Limited Mobility review

  • Extreme Stability: 4 fat tire wheels with 2 rear powertrains give the most stability even on extremely uneven surfaces like riding on the dunes
  • High Clearance: Clearance is right at the sweet spot, not to grab anything you ride over, yet to maintain stability
  • Powerful Motor: 500w motor is combined with a bike-like pedal and chain mechanism to give you a boost on rough terrains and when you are going uphill

Steering is done with two handlebars.

This is a recumbent bike, so there is no need to keep the balance like on a regular bike.

It is rated for 330 lbs and has extra space for cargo, too.

Now, let me address the elephant in the room.

This fat tire quad is pricy.

And it might stand out in the "affordable bikes" article.

But TrikExplor Fat Tire Quad is within the price range of many mobility scooters.

And the amount of manufacturing and engineering that goes into this ride explains the price.

But if you can afford it, the freedom of adventure it gives is second to none.

This is a ticket to freedom to enjoy riding the beaches and trails (or places with no trails) you otherwise couldn't.

NOTE Please remember you still need to be able to pedal and steer the quad. It is very helpful for people who can't ride regular bikes but doesn't eliminate the need to use your body.

Pros

Reliable and well-engineered
Helpful for people with limited mobility

Cons

Pricey
You still need to pedal and steer it

Conclusion

So here it is.

Our best fat tire bikes (and one quad) for beaches, trails, mountains, and beyond!

Pick the best one for you, and I will see you in the wild!
