The Taft Beach Sandcastle Contest is a beloved annual event held in the historic Taft District of Lincoln City. Sponsored by the Bay Area Merchants Association, the contest takes place on the second weekend of August, from 11 am to 5 pm, and brings together participants of all ages to showcase their sand sculpting creativity.

- Tools: Hand tools and forms are allowed, but no power tools. Final sculptures must be self-supporting.
- Children: Entrants 12 years and younger may receive limited advice from adults.
