This spot is quite a bit different from the rest in that it is ideally suited for those looking for an isolated spot by the river for some swimming or, possibly, fishing. Located along the banks of the Swagger Creek and Clear Creek, Metzler River Park is one of the few locations in a short distance from Portland but feels surprisingly secluded. The park provides a variety of opportunities for the best recreation experience including swimming, camping, hiking, fishing, and picnicking.
That being said, when accessed from the parking lot, there exists a trail that leads towards the river front. This trail eventually forks into two directing you to a serene sandy small beach equivalent.
There are various creeks that dump into this area and it is at the mouths of these creeks that salmon can be found. This secluded river front is great for those who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of crowds at the more popular spots.
