Tseriadun State Recreation Site with Agate Beach is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts right in Port Orford. A mile-long beach with Garrison Lake nearby is a fantastic spot for beachcombing, fishing, nature viewing, and picnicking. Take a peaceful stroll along the ocean with distant sea stacks, beautifully weathered driftwood sitting right on the sand, and wildflowers blooming in the spring.

A 200-yard gravel and sand trail will take you from the parking lot to Agate Beach. The beach is gravel and coarse sand, making it easy to walk on, and it is also a very productive place for agate hunting.

During low tides, you can explore a cove with a small gravel beach near the headland. Pay attention to the tide timing so you do not get stranded.

Rockhounding

During winter, especially after storms, you have the highest chance of finding unique pieces for your collection. Agates are plentiful here, hence the name, but you can also find jasper, a lot of seashells, and other gifts of the ocean.

The 130-acre Garrison Lake sits right next to Agate Beach, and it is a great place for trout fishing. Rainbow and cutthroat trout are plentiful here.

Picnicking

A picnic area features a tree-shaded picnic area and restrooms. Generally, this spot doesn't attract crowds so that you can enjoy it in peace.
