• Ash Flat Campground offers peaceful river access and crystal-clear swimming hole
Ash Flat Campground is located in a quiet corner of the Umpqua National Forest, about 17 miles northeast of Tiller along the South Umpqua River.
This small, primitive campground is tucked into a beautiful grove of mixed conifers and hardwoods right along the riverbank. Tall trees provide generous shade throughout the day, keeping campsites cool even during the warmest summer months. The gentle sound of the river adds to the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.
With only four campsites, Ash Flat remains uncrowded and tranquil throughout the season. It is an ideal choice for visitors seeking a simple forest retreat away from busy campgrounds and noisy crowds.
Fishing is not permitted in this section of the river, which makes Ash Flat especially appealing to swimmers who want calm, undisturbed water without anglers nearby.
