• Devil's Lake is separated into a campground and a day-use area
Devil's Lake State Recreation Area, on the east side of Lincoln City, is a serene 685-acre park full of outdoor adventures.
The park has two distinct areas: Devil's Lake State Park Campground on the west shore and East Devil's Lake Day-Use Park on the east side of the lake, a short drive from the campground.
The calm waters of Devil's Lake make it ideal for paddling, fishing, and boating. This lake is also home to a variety of fish like rainbow trout, yellow perch, catfish, and largemouth bass, as well as migratory birds and bald eagles.
The day-use park has a boat launch, a fishing dock for anglers, picnic tables, a fire pit for family activities, and restrooms with accessible facilities.
Paddling, Boating, and Swimming
The lake's calm, wind-protected waters are perfect for kayaking and canoeing, making it a favorite spot for paddlers of all skill levels.
If you have a motorboat, paddleboat, or sailboat, you can easily launch it from the day-use park's boat ramp.
The park also has two designated swimming areas where you can take a refreshing dip during warm summer days.
Fishing
Devil's Lake is full of different fish, so there's always a chance to catch something. You can reel in rainbow trout, which are great for beginners because they bite often.
If you're looking for variety, try catching yellow perch, catfish, or black crappie, which are fun to fish and tasty to eat. For a bigger challenge, go after largemouth bass, known for their strong fight.
If you want something smaller, bluegill is a great choice, especially for kids learning how to fish.
The lake has calm, quiet waters, making it easy to cast a line from the shore, the fishing dock, or boat.
Wildlife Viewing
You can often see ospreys and bald eagles soaring above the lake, especially if you look near the trees or wetlands.
During certain times of the year, flocks of migratory ducks and geese stop by the lake.
If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of small mammals or other birds along the shoreline.
Devil's Lake Legends
The lake was once home to a peaceful native village until a monstrous creature with massive tentacles emerged from the depths...
