The Washougal River Greenway at marker three offers pebbly beaches, gentle shallows, and deep, clear areas surrounded by a forested landscape. The parking at the swimming hole near milepost 3 is limited, and a Discover Pass is required. There is a vault toilet.
A short but steep trail leads down to the riverbank, where a wide gravel-and-sand beach provides space to spread out and relax.
The swimming area features calm shallows that are ideal for wading, while the deeper pools remain cool and refreshing on hot summer days. On the opposite river side, a small waterfall flows from the small cliff rising above the water into the river, creating a pretty backdrop and gentle sound. This cliff is often used to jump into the deeper pools, but it should be done with caution.

Big Eddy - Washougal River Milepost 7.5
Big Eddy, located at Milepost 7.5 along the Washougal River Road, offers a serene, natural swimming spot with free roadside parking and no amenities.
A short trail of about 0.1 miles leads down to the river, starting with a steep section before leveling out. At the bottom, you'll find a wide, pebbly beach beside a deep, clear eddy pool perfect for cooling off.
A small waterfall adds both visual charm and the gentle sound of splashing water.

Dougan Falls
