Cedar Grove Campground and Recreation Site is a serene, shaded area along the upper Molalla River, just 12 miles south of Molalla. As the name suggests, this place sits in a picturesque grove of western red cedar trees.
This river oasis is one of many destinations along the Molalla River Recreation Corridor that offer opportunities for swimming, camping, picnicking, hiking, or simply enjoying Oregon's natural beauty.
The river is easily accessible from the parking area by a trail with stone stairs.
A long stretch of the beach consists mostly of cobbles. The opposite bank features basalt rock formations with several ledges. The river has both deep pools and shallow areas. During summer, when water levels are lower, the river is usually calm at this location, making it a pleasant place to enjoy the refreshing water. The water temperature typically remains cool even during the peak of summer heat, reaching about 67°F in August.

The Molalla River Trail System offers approximately 20 miles of trails with varying difficulty levels for mountain bikers, equestrians, and hikers. You can choose from multiple trails based on their interests and skill level.
Keep in mind that there is no cell service, and watch for frequent log truck traffic on the roads.
Pack out all trash to help keep Oregon's natural areas clean for generations to come.
