Things to Do at Jones Creek Campground
Swimming
The Jones Creek Day-Use Area sits along the Wilson River and offers picnic tables and parking. During the warmer summer months, the river is a popular place to cool off.
River swimming comes with risks. Rocks can be slippery, and currents may be stronger than they appear. Use caution near the water and keep a close eye on children.
Hiking the Tillamook State Forest
Jones Creek Campground provides access to hiking opportunities in the surrounding Tillamook State Forest. The Wilson River Trail, Footbridge Trail, and Kings Mountain Trailhead offer options for exploring the forest and nearby river corridor.
Smith Homestead, a historic site along the Wilson River, is also located nearby.
🔵 Cell service is basically nonexistent, and the campground can get crowded during summer holidays, especially with nearby OHV trails attracting recreational riders. Arrive early if you want a better chance of finding a campsite. Also, check current firewood regulations before your trip and bring local or certified heat-treated firewood if required.
